Elaine

After not having any inspiration to do any kind of crafting for quite some time, I saw this image on the SBS Facebook Fanpage as this month's freebie challenge and was inspired. If you want to join in on the monthly challenges or even better, just want a bunch of really crafty people to chat with, join the group.

The SBS Facebook Fanpage challenge this month was to use the "Elaine" image and swirls and ribbon. Since Facebook has been acting up lately with regards to posting of our challenge pictures, we are all posting on the SBS blog.

Since the timing and the "embossing folder" theme work out so well on the Simply Challenged Challenges Blog, I'm also entering it into that challenge.

Materials Used
  • Copic: Y21, Y26, YR23 (hair); E00, E11, BV00 (skin); E04, E07 (lips); W3, W5, W7 (cat); V12, V15, V17 (dress).
  • Paper: Core'dinations
  • Misc: ribbon, flat rinestones
Let me know what you think, and make sure you check out all the other entries.

Princess Mini-Album

So my crafting mojo has been majorly absent lately, but I managed to make this mini-album. The album is for one of my mom's colleagues who gave me a very generous graduation gift, and when I found out that he and his wife were expecting their first daughter, I knew that this would be way better than a simple "Thank You" card. The idea and majority of the layout for the album is from a Queen&Co. make-and-take that I did several years ago at a Scrapbook Expo. Naturally all of the embellishments are from them.

Materials:
  • Album: Cosmo Cricket
  • Paper: Bazzill
  • Embellishments: Queen & Co.

Organizing and Corloring

Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I've done anything crafty. I think my crafting mojo has decided to take an early winter vacation. I was able to squeeze out this adorable Grad Anya from The Greeting Farm. It's supposed to be for my graduation party invitations. Obviously, I need to finish the actual invitation part (I know, I'm procrastinating).

Material:
  • Copics: E000, E11, E13 (Skin); E41, E42 (Diploma); Y23, YR21, YR24 (Hair); T4, T6, T8, 100 (Graduation Cap and Gown); B24, B26, B28 (Tassel, Shoes, Diploma Band).
  • Paper: Bazzill Bling

Since my crafting mojo has been absent lately, I've been organizing my crafting space. I'm almost done with my ribbon and embellishments area. Finally found all of the metal storage baskets that I need from Michaels (they were clearanced way back in the summer without notice and I needed 3 more). I got everything hung up and all of the flowers, brads, eyelets, buttons, etc. into the jars. I'm still working on the ribbon. I had 4 photo boxes filled with ribbon on chipboard bobbins plus a drawer full of rolls. You never really know just how much ribbon you have until its all out in the open.

Next up is finishing the ribbon and organizing all of my rinestones, wish me luck.

TGF Double-Take Tuesday

I was supposed to be preparing a presentation for class tomorrow, but instead decided to color up Ian for the new Double-Take Tuesday Challenge on The Greeting Farm's Blog. This week is a card sketch. I love this week's challenge, because for me the hardest part about creating cards (and scrapbook pages) is coming up with the layout.

Materials:
  • Copics: E0000, E000, E21 (Skin); E25, E27, E29, E49 (Hair, Shoes); B12, B16, B18 (Pants); G12, G03, G19 (Shirt); R43, R46, R59 (Shirt Sleeves).
  • Paper: Bazzill Bling, DCWV Christmas Stack w/ Glitter (from 2009 or 2010 I think).
Now back to my presentation so I can get some sleep before it's actually tomorrow.

SCC 13 Days of Halloween - Day 5

For Day 5 of the Simply Challenged Challenges 13 Days of Halloween, we were challenged to create something with spiderwebs. I decided to try out an awesome tutorial that Erin posted on the SBS Facebook page and her blog for an alternative bookmark. If you haven't seen the tutorial, you should really check it out here. The Simply B Stamps Betty Skellington from the first Bettys Series was just perfect for this with the spiderwebs on the Jack Ear Hat.

Materials:
  • Copics: V22, V25, V28 (Hair, Eyes, Lips); E000, E21, E11 (Skin); T2, T4, T6, T8, 100 (Hat, Dress). I also used Copic Opaque White to make the spiderweb design on the ears stand out against the black background.
  • Paper: Core'dinations
  • Spiderweb Punch: Martha Stewart
Let me know what you think and head over to the Simply Challenged Challenges blog to check out all of the other entries.

TGF Farm Fresh Friday

I was supposed to be studying tonight, but I got an idea in my head for this week's Farm Fresh Friday Challenge on The Greeting Farm's blog, and had to run with it. The challenge is buttons and bows. I had a blast using some of my buckets of buttons (I seriously have an embellishment hoarding problem). Flirty Anya just fit perfectly with her polka dot dress and sass. Also, you really can't go wrong with purple.

Materials:
  • Copics: E50, E51, E53, E02, E04 (Skin, Mouth); YR2, YR23, YR24 (Hair); V22, V25, V28 (Dress, Shoes, Flower in hair).
  • Paper: Core'dinations, Sassafras Las "Life is Beautiful" Collection.
Let me know what you think, and go check out all of the other entries.

TGF Double-Take Tuesday

I made this adorable little cowgirl for the new Double-Take Tuesday Challenge on The Greeting Farm's Blog. This week was a color challenge using white, grey, yellow, and aqua. I absolutely loved coloring Wild West Anya, not only because I am a country girl myself, but also because the stamp was a birthday present from my friend Aeryn who got me hooked on TGF (and she's on their DT, congrats!).

Materials:
  • Copics: E00, E21, E11, E04 (Skin, Mouth); Y21, Y26, YR23 (Hair, Belt Buckle); C1, C3, C5 (Hat, Boots, Belt); BG11, BG45, BG49 (Vest, Skirt).
  • Paper: Bazzill Bling, Core'dinations, Bella Blvd Socialite Collection.
Let me know what you think, and go check out all of the other entries.

SCC 13 Days of Halloween - Day 2

For Day 2 of the Simply Challenged Challenges 13 Days of Halloween, we were challenged to create something "witchy". We were given free reign on what it could be, as long as it wasn't a card. I finally got my act together and created this adorable purse mini-book for my 2011 Halloween trip to Disneyland with my friends Aeryn and Mike.

The mini-book is an old BoBunny kit I've had for a few years from their Halloween Boo collection. I added the Little Witch Ariel Stamp from the new Simply B Stamps Jude and the Rockers Halloween line. She looks almost exactly like I did dressed up as a witch, right down to the glasses, so it was a perfect fit.Now I just have to print off all of my pictures to fill in the book.

Materials:
  • BoBunny Halloween Boo Kit
  • Copics: V12, V15, V17 (Hair, Eyes); E000, E00, E21, R02, Peach Spica (Skin, Lips); YG03, YG05, YG17, Pitch Black Spica (Dress); T4, T6, T8, 100 (Hat, Boots); For the broom, I just randomly grabbed some light and dark E's and made random flicking lines to simulate a woodgrain pattern.
